20 Style Tips On How To Wear A Suede Jacket

Fashion-wise, it doesn’t get much better than spring (except for fall – fall wins). The colors seem brighter, everything is fresh and new, and you can finally get rid of your bulky winter coat, gloves, hats, and assorted accessories. But getting rid of your warm winter jacket doesn’t mean you can get rid of every jacket – spring days still require something light, especially for the evening or early morning. And while there are lots of options (a denim jacket, leather jacket, utility jacket, to name a few), one of my personal favorites is the suede jacket.

Suede has been super popular in the last few months – we’ve seen it in the form of skirts, dresses, shirts, and boots. It’s a popular fabric for winter because it’s very warm, and you may have become accustomed to seeing suede winter coats out there. They’re usually heavy, with some sort of fur collar. Suede jackets for spring are different. I personally prefer a lighter moto jacket, which basically looks like a suede version of a leather jacket – very cool, very trendy. You can also opt for a more retro style with buttons, or something super boho and Coachella-esque with fringe.

No matter what you pick, there’s no denying that suede jackets are perfect for spring weather, which can get quite chilly at times. They’ll keep you warm without making you look bundled up, and they can make any outfit look instantly more put together. I have a rose gold and pink suede jacket I snagged from a limited edition Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s line last year, and I can’t wait to wear it. If you’re excited to wear yours, here are 20 style tips on how to wear a suede jacket for a little bit of fashion inspiration!

5. A crop top looks professional under a fitted suede moto jacket with high-waist pants.

8. A suede jacket keeps you feeling covered up over a lace-up shirt.

11. Make shorts work for spring with a suede jacket and cool ankle boots.

12. Feeling chilly in a dress with no tights? Add a suede jacket to keep your look perfect for spring.

15. A suede jacket pulls together the look of a simple striped midi dress and heels.

16. A pretty bralette, even with high-waist jeans, can leave you feeling exposed. Throw on a suede moto jacket if you feel like you need something else.

18. Go super boho by wearing a suede jacket over a white crochet dress or romper. Bonus points if it has fringe. Extra bonus points if you wear a floppy hat like this one.

20. A suede jacket can also pull together mom jeans and sneakers. How cool and different is this?
